Nahm Prik Noom (Thai Chile Dip)
Nahm Prik Noom is a Thai Chile Dip that is best served chilled with your favorite toppings, we used snap peas, green onions, chicharrones and cucumbers. It's a spicy dip made with anaheim chiles, a lot of garlic and charred tomatoes and shallots. This finger-food dish is guaranteed to pack a punch at your next gathering!
- 5 shallots
- 10-15 cloves of garlic
- 1 tomato
- 8-12 Anaheim chiles
- 2 tsp fish sauce
- 2 tsp sugar
- handful cilantro
- juice of 1 lime
- For Dipping: chicharrones, snap peas, cucumbers, green onions
- Char your chiles, shallots, garlic and 1 tomato for about 30-45 minutes in a cast iron on medium high heat until cooked through and charred/blackened. Set aside.
- In batches, place in a pestal and mortar and chop up. (you can also use a food processor)
- Once all mashed up, add in your fish sauce, sugar, cilantro and lime. Mix it all together and enjoy! We used snap peas cucumbers, green onions and chicharrones for dipping but you can use anything you prefer.
