5 Different Methods To Cook Chicken

When preparing for your fancy holiday dinners or even a quick simple dinner at home with your family, there are a variety of ways to cook your chicken! The various methods range from roasting, baking, sauteing to braising and more! Here are some ways to cook your different cuts of chicken for the most flavorful dishes! 

1. Baking
This is my favorite method because it's so simple to make! Baking chicken is different than roasting because baked chicken used with parts of a chicken. For example, drumsticks, breasts, wings or thighs! Chicken is typically coated in flour before adding spices or seasonings. 

2. Roasting
This is one of the tastiest ways to cook a chicken. This is different than baking because you roast the whole chicken rather than parts of it (which would be called baking). When you include the skin, it helps keep the meat tender - preventing it from drying out. 

3. Braising 
This is a cooking method where you first brown the meat in oil. After, you cook it with a minimal amount of liquid on the stove or in the oven. This long, slow cook time helps with more tougher cuts of meat while enhancing flavor. Chicken thigh swill work great in a braised dish. 

4. Sauteing
This is a quick method that involves cooking your chicken in a skillet with some oil sauce of choice. Boneless Chicken Breasts are great for this method! 

5. Frying 
When deep-frying, keep your oil's temperature between 325°F and 400°F. Drumsticks, thighs and wings are all popular cuts to use in frying recipes. The chicken is dipped in a batter or seasoned flour to help seal in moisture when cooking.
