School is starting soon and that means its back to the grind. 

With that being said...let's talk about after-school snacks. I admit, it's something I didn't think of when Caiden first started school. I thought I had everything planned - outfits, school lunches, dinners...but never a healthy snack that'll refuel him while he unwinds and gets ready to do homework. But I learned my lesson the hard way and I'm never making that mistake again! 

Here is a healthy after-school snack recipe that's easy and quick to make: Pita Pizza!

For this recipe all you need are the 4 main ingredients: pita, marinara sauce, olive oil, and cheese (unless your kid is like Caiden and doesn't like cheese). As far as toppings...go crazy! Since this is a snack - I kept the toppings light. 


  • Pita Bread
  • Marinara Sauce
  • Olive Oil 
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Toppings: Spinach, Mushrooms, Zucchini, Green Pepper


  1. Preheat oven 400 degrees. Brush a little olive oil on the pita.
  2. Spread Marinara Sauce on top of the pita, leaving a little room from the edge.
  3. Sprinkle cheese and add toppings.
  4. Place on a baking sheet and back for 5-7 minutes or until cheese in melted.
