Now that the holidays and gluttony are over, I thought fitness and nutrition could be part of this year's new year's resolution! :-)
What better timing than to bring back this article about healthy dieting for top cognitive functioning. The study at Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia stated:
"Normally in the brain, microglia are constantly moving around. They are always moving around their little fingers and processes. What happens in obesity is they stop moving," explained Alexis M. Stranahan, Ph.D., a neuroscientist at Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia and and lead author of the study. "[Dietary] fat dramatically alters their dynamic."
No better time than now to work on improving diet to be sharp for the new year!
